Last episode of this season is approaching, and I figured we need a discussion thread for it.

Feel bad to have to tell you, there is only one season of this show. It's over next ep.

Haha no. They're making it the same model of American Horror Story. Next season will have new characters and a new plot.

Yep.

I can pretty much guarantee i will disappointed with the casting for the next series though. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Rust and Marty...party because of the great acting of Woody Harrelson and Matthew Mcconaughey and partly because of the writing.

I might be wrong though.....they could surprise me. Apparently it's rumoured that the next season will have female leads.

This is why I think they should stop the series right after the end of this season, while the ratings are super high.

Ok, season 1 is over now. I just finished watching it. Overall I gotta say it was absolutely amazing. That last scene in particular was extremely powerful.

Yeah, i gotta agree, that last section of the last episode was amazing. I'm so glad that this show didn't turn out to be a generic detective show (which i was intially scared of because of it's title), it has always been about Rust and Marty, everything else was kinda secondary, even the plot was just a means of developing those two characters.

I'm gonna miss those guys in season 2.

If anyone's interested in what the creator of the show has to say about the first season, then check this out - http://www.hitfix.com/whats-alan-watching/true-detective-creator-nic-pizzolatto-looks-back-on-season-1
