The failure of this submission demonstrates a disturbing double standard in how rumors are handled.
Report: Next Xbox OS based on Windows 8 'core'
I was told it failed because Paul Thurrott is "a blogger" and "not credible." Only, he was the one to originally break the May 21 reveal date of the the next Xbox a couple of weeks ago. He's constantly been the source of correct unannounced information for Windows, Windows Phone and Xbox because he's a Microsoft insider and has many contacts with the company and industry. He's not just some random guy posting on a blogspot blog, on Reddit or in a forum.
When I pointed these facts out, I was told that he's been wrong some too. And? So have Kotaku, Joystiq, Polygon, CVG, VG247, etc etc etc yet rumors from these blogs
are constantly allowed on N4G. And let's not get started about Michael Pachter. Right now, there's a rumor from BF4Central.com about a Battlefield 4 poster that looks photochopped allowed.
So, someone please explain this double standard.
Edit: And here is a rumor that was posted as an opinion piece (even though no opinion is offered) based on "a friend" that made a YouTube video based on some anonymous person. And it's sitting on the top bar of the front page.
