War is hell. That quote holds true in every sense of interpretation and here today i shall not condone it even in these so call Console Wars. Ergo, i bring you the top games you must own in 2009 period. In my world, systems only exists as a medium. Here are the games you absolutely must owned regardless of the system.
Killzone2- The most redefining FPS shooter of our time. Ppl say its technical graphics are where the title stands the out the most but i believe it is in its shooting mechanics. This game's online mode should be the litmus test for noobs who think theyre FPS gods just cuz they supposedly own in COD games.
LBP: GOTY- I dont care who the hell you THINK you are to say something like "this game isnt really for me." Now i know this game has been released already last year but this entry is only for those who've yet to pick it up. Im not even going to go into what the game is about but LBP coincides literally with the essential notion of why it is we play games at all. To imagine, and dream, and escape into a world that exists solely to allow us to do the things we only dream of doing in the real world. Ladies and gentlemen, prepare to become elated.
Marvel vs Capcom 2: Now i enter this post with with great hesitation for 2 reasons. 1 i wanted to stray from entering PSN/XBL games overall. And 2, the sad attempt at bringing this game online so utterly fails, if there were to had rereleased this game as a hardcopy, I wouldve cracked the disc 20 time over by now. MVC2 makes this list simply because it is hailed as arguably the greatest fighting game of all time. TBH, it was at a point my ALL TIME FAV GAME until i played it online. But this game has been wanted and demanding probably more so than a FFVII remake. The single player has more than enough fun for any fighting game enthusiast to bask in. Buy this even if you hate fighting games.
Infamous: Lol, boy was i wrong. We all took witness and some of us took part in the seemingly everlasting Prototype vs Infamous debate. Me and about 3 other people rooted for Prototype while the other 348,755 ppl chanted Infamous. Now i see why. After completing the game yesterday, i have to say this game has the most engrossing storyline of any game I have played this year. I was a great skeptic of this game because in my head im like "ok at the end of the day all you have is electricity.....i get it." But boy was i wrong. We as gamers should thank SP for delivering such a sublime experience. There is not 1 thing that this game does wrong and i am absolutely stoked for its sequel.
Prototype: (chuckles) Oh what have you done to me Prototype? Never in my life have i put so much hrs into a single player game (112+). Never in my life have I received a platinum trophy for a game. You were my first, and I would never forget you. People you must own this game. Take all that love/hate sh*t and just throw it out the window. Every single person that I know personally who have played this game cant put it down. (not to mention here where im from, no 1 really games as hard as I do, and if anyone is playing anything is usually just sport games).
Lost Planet 2: Ok everyone is uttering that no game comes close to Uncharted 2 graphically. I must be effing blind because i watched a LP2 trailer about 2 weeks ago and this game is arguably the best looking game I have seen on a 360. Now here in my world console wars doesnt exist so i dont wanna hear any retorts. Like i said consoles are just a medium and here LP2 is making me want to run outside and buy a 360. LP 1 was an engaging experience and did something brand new with TPS and succeeded (still have my CE), and LP2 looks to take that miles further. GET. THIS. GAME. a 4 player constant co-op campaign, with all new jungle elements, this seemingly sleeper title seems to be the ace in the hole MS has up their sleeve. (im assuming this game is 360 exclusive)
Forza 3: Now im a GT fan. Im not even going to get into how much i love the series. But Forza 3 has my heart beating and i dont know if thats from excitement or nervousness. Ladies and gents please do not sleep on this racer. It seems to be doing allllll the right things, and delivering where it counts. If i can have 400 cars that I love and use, when compared to 1000 and i might only touch 300 of em, you better believe i want the 400. Another 1 i just might have to pick up a 360 for.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2- (sigh), Finally...........its FINALLY here. The sequel to 1st title i bought on the ps3. Oh and with trophies too? I pray this game still packs the ominous difficulty that set it so apart from any other hack and slash as i will be spending HOURS on this game.
Demon Souls- I am probably more inept when it comes to playing RPG's than perhaps anyone on this site. However believe it or not this title has me debating whether i should buy this game over UC2. Now if a game can do that to a gamer then it must have something serious goping for it.
Uncharted 2- Need I say more? Yes, its THAT good. GOTY confirmed. shut up i said GOTY confirmed!!
RAC: ACIT- Ive never own a ratchet game. I have however fell in love with their ps2 commercials and also fell for their graphics. Ppl talk about this game as if it can literally can be considered for GOTY. This will be my 1st ratchet and it should be your 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th......
Call of Duty 4: MW2- You.................you sonofa..........what have you done? How could you?! HOW COULD YOU TUrN THE GAMING WORLD UPSIDE DOWN LIKE THIS?!?! Nah but all melodrama aside, we cant deny MW2. Seriously. I dont mean that as a euphemism. We literally CANT deny it. At birth we were implanted with microchips that manipulates us into purchasing this game no matter what price. Hey, when you're a slave, you have an excuse.
GOW collection- You should all be ashamed. ALL OF YOU!! Gamers and devs alike. Gamers you let a ps2 game keep up and even outshine some of your contemporary games? Devs you let this last generation franchise show you how to re release an old game? lol I cant wait to see what happens when GOW3 comes cause this is just embarrassing.
Gran Turismo 5- Pray. You hear me? Pray this isnt released this year.....
And there you have it folks. The top games you must ABSOLUTELY own in 2009. We are just hitting the fall season and we barely scratched the surface of whats in store for us. Now im doing titles unreleased titles simply because the latter half of 09 is where all the juice lies. Yes, i know none of us had played any of the games that havent came out yet but we as gamers can draw some very accurate conclusions from the information we gather. Whatever the case, at the end of the day, we must own these games. Get a job, get another job, ask your mother, ask your father, get a sugar daddy, get a gf, prostitute, hit a new guiness record, do whatever it takes top get the system necessary to play these games!!
