PS3 + Laptop - Friday, November 06, 2009 3:21 PM
Right a somewhat stupid question really but I need an answer

Can I play my PS3 using my laptop as a screen through HDMI?

Getting a house with a few friends and my TV is being put into the sitting room alongside my friends Slim PS3. Which means mine will be idle. Would like to be able to use it in my room but no way am I buying another TV. Can it work? or is there software I can use to make it work?

Yes you can. HDMI I'm not sure though. The HDMI port on a laptop really is for projecting your screen on a TV or any other display device. But what is needed to use your laptop monitor as a gaming display is very simple and cheap.

Brilliant. Thanks!

I'm going to keep searching see if there is a HD alternative but I now know it's at least possible.

in the comments for the youtube video link above, one person says, "i dont use easycap. dazzles r better cuz u get HD affect n better audio" (bradk12356). not sure what dazzles are but i assume its similar to easycap, and he says it gets HD quality.... well i think thats what he means. i dunno tho, hope that helps a bit. Good luck.
