"Well heres a story that is sure to get your juices flowing. A new study from analysts has concluded that gamers will favor the PS3version over the Xbox 360 version of upcoming shooter Modern Warfare 2.

That’s according to this MCV report, who have quoted a new study from analyst firm OTX. Apparently, Modern Warfare 2 isn’t the only multiplatform game which the PS3 version is coming out on top, as the report also reveals that gamers are also favoring the PS3 version of Assassin’s Creed II.
This is quite interesting as we can recall that after the first Modern Warfare came out, it was the Xbox 360 version that emerged on top in sales, so if the report is true, it is definitely a surprising turnaround."
Kinda surprising, considering MW2 for the ps3 is under-marketed.

I'll just see the salesnumbers when they come in. As far as I know the 360 sold about 8 mln. COD4 and the PS3 sold about 4.5 mln. of them.

With an installed base of what, 25 mln. for the PS3 and 34 mln. for the 360, I can't see the PS3 version outselling the 360 version. Certainly not when I see that the PS3 is washed out again, less sharp in its textures etc

Hell the new barbie game will likely outsell the PC version of MW2 those boys are pissed off lol..

Fanboyism aside it will sell better on the 360 because the 360 is starving for a good game atm where as the ps3 is flooded with quality exclusives. Oh and 360 fans have a hard on for shooters.

I think so, it's being advertised along side the 360. Assassin's Creed 2 is doing the same with the PS3. In fact I see all the time now where they only show one version. The worst adverts are the ones that show the Wii version of a game at the end but the PS3 or 360 gameplay(like the latest Star Wars advert).

Nice install numbers mart, now its a 9 million gap? Stop going to vgchartz, really it'll make you look stupid in situations like this.  Though I don't disagree that it will sell more on the 360, it will, that's just common sense.

And there is no way the Ps3 version of this game will sell as good as the 360(Uncharted2,Demon's Souls and R&C being part of the reasons why it wont sell as much)

Yea I would think it would be pretty obvious that MW is associated with Xbox more. Even though it does sell good on ps3, it would sell alot more on ps3. Hopefully with the increase in ps3 slim sales, Ill have more people to play with online.

This is one area where sony needs to be more aggressive they did good with UC2 at launch and the new mon-tage commercials that they have out are going in the right direction but they need to do more of this for their exclusives. I have not seen 1 commercial for demon souls or the new ratchet game yet as in exclusive commercials for those games alone.

They are showing a lot of R&C and Uncharted 2 commercials here in New York but now that you mention it you are right,i haven't seen one single commercial about Demon's Souls yet.

Shakka is right. In New York, the commercials are either "Mon Tage", Ratchet and Clank, U2 -reviewer appeal, and the boyfriend who hasnt signed onto PSN yet. There are ALOT of those put together tho, so that's one thing they've got right. They have exclusive Assassins Creed 2 marketing, so thats one major push into 3rd party marketing, and we'll have to see how they fare with more 3rd party titles in the future.

I dont think we'll see any Demon Souls commercials tho. I still believe it's one of those really niche titles that From Software and Sony didnt expect to be so good or sell as well as it did. Hopefully that changes and they advertise it, since having more people play it and enjoy it might convince developers to stop making games so easy (for the most part).

the 360 is going to out sell the ps3 with mw2. the only reason  its going to is b/c this is one of two game that are coming out for the 360 sorry . ( left for dead 2 ) is the other one you can blame MS for this one . i sold my 360 cuz it was just sitting there and i didnt want to get the rrod again .

Highly unlikely, expect a huge turnout from the 360 base.

Thank you for showing this because I get tired of explaining it...

Their are so many stupid site saying the PS3 looks washed out, but yet they have not turned on full RGB -when this is on the games look the same....

This site clearly shows you this...  (I have both systems and I have COD4 on both systems, and I can tell you they both look the same people so I'm sure MW2 will look the same on both systems too)

So whatever system you have, just enjoy the game.. who cares what system it sells more on- do you work at infinity ward? Are you going to get a cut of the profits? So what does it matter, play on whatever system you are enjoying right now.
