Longboarding. - Sunday, November 08, 2009 11:41 AM
Anyone tried it? I am thinking of getting a board to entertain myself during the months I can't surf (basically 10 months of the year). I used to skateboard when I was younger but I moved on to surfing after getting quite good. So does anyone have a board or tried it?

Longboarding, mehh.

Skating is where it's all at. I can say I have tried it, I was personally bored by it. Then again, I do not know the full extent of long boarding, other than like..trying to surf on the street.

If you enjoyed skating, and you enjoy surfing, take it up. I do recommend snowboarding though.

you only have 2 months of surfing? WTF? lol

In what country do you live?

This was from a few days ago in Puerto Rico and some friends are telling me that today's epic. It's so cool to live in an island, there are waves all year and you just can travel from north to south in like 2-3 hours.

the pics look kinda dark and ugly because my friend doesn't know how to use his 1,000 dollars camera.

BTW, longboards are boring... They are so slow and don't require any skill. But skim boards are fun!

Funny you should mention it just now.  I found out about 5 minutes ago that a friend of mine from back home got rocked by a car while he was out longboarding and he's in the hospital with two badly broken legs right now.

So...be careful I guess.

well I live in England, UK but I can only get to the coast in my summer holidays during July and August (august is an awesome month for waves over here). That surf looks wicked, lucky you

and at Hellangelzx: yeah I used to enjoy skating quite a lot but prefer surfing. I just cant get to the coast enough so this is why I am thinking about getting a longboard. Snowboarding is amazing as well but way too expensive to do as a hobby for me.
