So, it's that time of year where the best of the best games get awards and those not so great games get left behind. Who do you think will get it? U2 or MW2? Both of these games are getting phenomenal praise. Sure, there are other games, but they won't have as much attention like these 2. MW2 always has attention and U2 has the scores and hollywood type story.
 
Knowing the VGA's, they will give it to a multiplatform game and the one with the most sales which is ding ding ding... MW2. So, what are your thoughts?

Replayability
Presentation
Quality

Because unfortunately all GOTY is these days, is whatever the popular game is regardless of any of that. Which is why MW2 is going to take it home in most places.

But if its based on some sort of actual criteria oustide of who had the largest media opening, Uncharted2 takes the cake. It's evolved this gen of gaming, raised bars and standards.

If MW2 gets GOTY just for being MW2, that means that it will get GOTY regardless of any games out there that are less popular. If MW3 comes out, its guranteed GOTY as well.

I'd like it to go to Uncharted 2 personally
But I can see MW2 getting it.

Out of MW2 and Uncharted 2 I'd say it should go to Uncharted 2, but I haven't played either. However I think really that it should go to something lower profile, the best games are the ones that had little hype but blew you away.

If it goes to MW2 I think I'm gonna have to kick someone.

Well, I'd say I've played enough games to know a true gem when I see one (as have many others). Uncharted 2 is one of the (if not THE) best game this generation so far and I can't see Modern Warfare 2 being better with all the bad press its getting and the fact that it'll be little more than Modern Warfare with a few tweaks and improvements. I'm not saying it won't be a great game, 'cause it's guaranteed to be, but it won't be the best.

There's no way UC2 is winning, Holding-Your-Hand-Warfare will get it.

 

Hope that UC2 gets the recognition it deserves, but wouldn't be surprised if MW2 wins since most won't have the balls to pick Uncharted.
