Not sure what to say.  This is getting out of hand, but I love DJ Hero... so I will not judge...

Nope, I haven't played it and I will not buy it. I don't buy Activision games just like I don't buy EA sports games.

Now, I never can tell whether BIoodmask is being serious or not, but I agree with him.

I get as much enjoyment out of an old rhythm game where you press buttons in time as with a new one where you press buttons on a turntable-shaped controlller in time. Quite frankly it's a total ripoff.

The thing that annoys me most about these games is the very small amount of effort that is required to actually make them. Other than the peripherals, it would take me all of ONE DAY to make a rhythm-based game. Then, just add more tracks as you see fit. Charge for them. It's like tabbing out music, only you don't have to be accurate at all. Effectively these games have less depth than even the shallowest of cheap downloadable titles.

Sports games are very similar, in that it's been the same game for years (it has to be by its very nature) and to be honest, it's so far removed from the actual sport in most cases that whether you have a trick stick or whatever makes no real difference to how most people actually play these games - against friends - where playing ISS Deluxe would provide just as much fun.

I am being totally serious. I think music party games and movie licensed games are the death of the games industry. Since people are willing to pay$60 to over $100 for these cash-in games there will be less and less new games being made.

Why take the risk of investing millions and making a new IP that could possibly flop in sales when you can make Guitar Hero Richard Simons or Garbage Man Hero and sell millions of copies.

You should do your research on these games.... DJ Hero was actually really creative and the developer made the songs from the ground up.  Try the game, not only is it fun, but I bet $100 you find it challenging on medium and up!

Some of your statements are false and uneducated! However, you are Intitled to your opinion.

Come on.... you people are nuts....Just because you are not a fan, does not mean the games are not fun for other people.  I am not a fan of RPG's, but I don't bash them...

I'm thinking they probably just copyrighted the name so nobody else would steal it from them.

I totally agree. These games are way over-priced, lack innovation and yet people buy them. And it's a shame when EA and Activision cash in on the same formula every year and talented developers like Naughty Dog, Realtime Worlds (Crackdown), Remedy Entertainment etc never get close in terms of sales and profit despite being infinately more talanted.

There's been a bit of innovation, a tiny bit, like Vicarious Visions cross platform play(tween DS and Wii) with Guitar Hero 5 where you play the roadies and trash the other person's equipments but then again that's a kind of weird exception.

..and yes, music game fatigue has been blamed for the decline in the industry so obviously it's been recognised as a problem.

How many hero games have there been this year by the way and how many singstars for that matter? It's ridiculious.
