Mirrors Edge Installation error!!!

I just bought Mirrors Edge on PC yesterday and I have tried installing it on my computer that meets the game requirements but this error keeps showing up! "The cabinet file 'CookMap6.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM , or a problem with this package".
Please tell me what's wrong!
(someone on yahoo answers told me that the disk is damaged, could that be it? Do I just have to go to the store and exchange it?)

yeah, try bringing it back. Hopfully you have the receipt. Also, this is why I left PC gaming.

Thanks for the suggestion. So, probably all I need is a new disk?
Well if you exchange it for a new one, and it does the same thing. Then it isn't the disk and something might be wrong with your computer. Or some corruption occurred during installation.

This is one of the many reasons I prefer console gaming I buy the disc I put the disc in the tray it plays no fuss no muss.
