Call of Duty MW2: Is the 360 holding this game back? - Thursday, November 12, 2009 12:46 AM
I can't help but wonder if this game would be better as a PS3 exclusive. For one it would feature dedicated servers and 32 players support for that epic frag fest feeling. After playing KZ 2 for so long MW2 just feel too arcade-ish for me. Even worst it feels like I'm playing CoD 4.5, the hook I felt when I first play CoD 4 just isn't there anymore.

I can understand the concern but this is gonna turn into a flame war. Its better not to name the consoles at fault. Meh sorry to hear its not all that great.

No, the 360 version is not holding the ps3 version back. Why would they have dedicated servers on psn then? CoD 4 had p2p matchmaking.

While they improved in rewarding the gamer they took away some of the features cod4 gamers loved:

-tighter maps (every map feels like much larger overgrown)
-could take more damage (whoever see the other first wins)
-overpowered kill streak perks (harrier outlines the enemies and uses autoaim)
-more camping because the level design carters to it

IMO I would be completely happy with this game if they just fixed those issues:

-a new map pack
-disabling kill streak perks on smaller maps
-a little higher health

Game still provide an amazing upgrading/leveling system which ****s on cod4. I love using the same gun and doing the challenges to unlock new attachments for it. UMP and SCAR FTW!

Upgrading your perks is also sick, with Slight of Hand you reload faster. With Slight of Hand Pro you reload faster and aim into your sights faster.

Many many ways to customize your call sign so you can stand out during the game if your doing well.

NO NO NO .... the 360 is not....
graphics are not the only thing in a game to make it fun

in fact I would say... it is the last thing on the list... that a game needs to make it a good or great game...
No the 360 does not hold this game back ...

There is to many other things that do it...

Perhaps blaming the 360 was a knee jerk reaction but so far MW2 is nothing more than a scam. The features are lacking, the graphics are average, the presentation is average, and the campaign is CRAP. Its pure garbage considering the spirit and history of the CoD franchise. In other words, a campaign based on historical events or events ripped from the headlines. A sneak airborne invasion of America? LOL!! What is this, Call of Duty Red Alert?

I hope IWD enjoy their ill gotten sale numbers because we can stick a fork in this franchise. They're done. With a moronic storyline like this there is no where for future CoD games to go.

"After playing KZ 2 for so long MW2 just feel too arcade-ish for me"

And this is related to 360 in what way?
On top of that, online games are meant to be "arcade-ish" since you go for the highest score and compete in that sense.

I suggest you go look at the Lense of truth comparisons the ps3 is clearly holding the game back with its weak gpu.

Fanboi lives up to his name.

Yes the 360 AND PS3 are holding the game back from what it should have been on PC.

Obviously it would be better with dedicated servers, but console games don't generally support dedicated servers. Most fanboys are delusional about which games support them as well (even claiming that matchmaking, peer to peer games such as Uncharted 2 have dedicated servers).

The 360 and PS3 can run the same games. No game possible on one is impossible on the other.

Yeah, I guess that explains why Uncharted 2's graphical prowess is light years ahead of anything on 360. Surely Infinity Ward aren't to blame. If they can't make a good looking PS3 game, no one can. The Xbox 360 already offers a game that matches the original Uncharted in terms of graphics and it's called... Oh wait it doesn't, because Unreal Engine 3 is all you know and the last time a great looking UE3 game was released was never, unless your standards are lower than dirt.

PS3 is holding back PC development. There's not even a single game on the PS3 that comes close to Crysis when it comes to graphics, nor to to the keyboard and mouse set-up for FPS.

Keyboard and mouse is overrated... well at least the keyboard part. On a console I have analogue control... on a PC it's still digital! The best solution for gaming would be to have a mouse and gamepad, where the gamepad has an analogue stick and plenty of buttons.

Do you realize that the differences between the GPU's are only marginal? But when it comes to CPU the Cell totally destroys the Xenon? The PS3's GPU has direct access to the Cell and combined are much more powerful than the Xbox360 Ati and xenon. Why is that? Because the X360 was build like an outdated PC and its CPU can't give any support to the GPU. That's why we have games like Uncharted 2 and Killzone while the X360 has nothing that comes close.

The only advantage the X360 has over the PS3 is its unified ram. But yeah, you're the typical delusional Xbox fanboy. Just take a glance at Killzone 2 to understand that MW2 doesn't even comes close to its graphic quality.
