UPDATE: Bloody Palace beaten, S ranked.

So I'll start off by saying DrPirate is by far the most accomplished person on my friend's list.

I've currently beaten Devil Hunter and Son of Sparda, doing Dante Must Die right now. I have no D's, very few C's, many A's and some S's, and a few B's.

Highest I've gotten to in Bloody Palace is 36 (mind you I've only played it twice).


I've cleared every secret mission (they were surprisingly not too hard, considering most of them had some kind of exploit to make them incredibly easy (PANDORA, *cough*)), and my DT gauge is maxed. I have well over 100,000 proud souls and probably closing in on 1,000,000 red orbs. For Nero, I need to buy all the Table Hoppers, for Dante, I need to buy both Level 3 charge shots (his charge shots aren't that useful) and that move where he throws Rebellion into the enemy (had it once, never used it). Everything else has been maxed.

I'll also share one of my favourite strategies:

My preferred Blitz killing strategy (Nero): I guarantee two things: You will get to SSS if done right, and you shouldn't get hurt either. Charge shot level 3 and hit him. Do this once or twice more, while evading him, until his lightning shield is gone. Activate DT (hopefully your gauge is full or near full) and buster him, while bustering immediately spam your gun button to drill him with Yamato shards WHILE performing the buster attack. Wait for him to land properly and repeat this yamato-buster TWICE more. Then, he'll start to redden. Charge shot level 3 really quickly and pop it into him. Back away, and watch him explode and your style points should blitzkrieg to SSS.

Yesterday beat the last 4 levels in Dante Must Die mode. Today I beat the first three levels in Hell or Hell mode.

Devil May Cry 4 is an amazing game, I absolutely love it. I haven't tried the bloody palace yet, hopefully tomorrow I will get a chance to try it out.

UPDATE: Mephisto and Faust are easy for me now. Easily get rid of cloak: Dante: Fireworks, Rainstorm, or Omen. Nero: Buster repeatedly.

Personally, I hate Mephisto and Faust more than anything else, and stage 35 (8 or less Mephisto at once) was a pain in the ass, surprisingly I beat it, but 36 (that amount of Assaults and 2 Mephisto) finished me off before I could heal off chimera seeds (which help you out whenever they appear).

Yeah, I got to watch my sister fight the last boss yesterday. It was pretty funny seeing her playing as Dante, while fighting the last boss. It really cracked me up, but the sheer epicness of the battle was intense. I was literally at the edge of my seat watching it.

UPDATE: Bought all abilities for everyone.

Yeah and he totally goes all out on you, with EVERY ability. I would totally hate doing that, I have a feeling I would lose. None of the bosses in this game are that hard so I think stage 101, with maxed abilities, suffices as a really hard boss.

Edit: I actually use Nero to do BP. I tried Dante, and even though I like him a lot, charge shot 3 and devil bringer are just so useful.

@Pirate: you're pretty much to this game as I was to NGB dude, you're totally going for 100% completion + mad style ranks. Props to you.

Of course there's always those people who get #1 on the leaderboards and are just inhuman at these kinds of games, but hey, even grabbing a position in the top 200 or 100 is really good.

I tend to enjoy Nero as well. I just can't handle using dante, constantly switching stances and weapons really throws me off. Yet using Nero, I have no problem keeping my exceed meter pumping and with devil bringer im constantly luring something into my demonic garbage disposal.

I am kind of frightened to play the BP, getting to the last fight and then losing would make me cry.

It's a toughie for me. I would say that I prefer Dante if only because he is fun to use (variety), but Nero has those 2 moves which make many enemies a lot more practical to deal with.

Revving is fun but I don't always do it, I will use it when fighting ground enemies, but sometimes on bosses I focus on jump cancels rather than revving. Although MAX-Act/Exceed 3 is a beast of a combination.

I'd be annoyed too if I died at 101.

BTW we who have done the secret missions are officially more skilled than GameSpot, they couldn't do some of them (notably the one where you raise the style meter without attacking).

EDIT: OK, just got the Modus Vivendi accomplishment. I was missing a blue orb in Mission 9 which was in plain sight, but I never bothered to get, you have to do a running "leap" to get it.

u dont need to wait for him to come out lol just do some damage to them and use ur devil bringer on them but make sure ur on the ground when u use the devil bringer and hed get pulled out of his hiding hole;)

completed it on human a few days ago, going through on devil now.
