Borderlands 2      12/10

I like this guy.

@TLG

Play more of the Walking Dead episodes, you won't be disappointed ^^
It REALLY picks up from the 3rd episode... 4 n 5 are by far the best thou. You don't wanna stop between 4 n 5

Dunno if you saw my post in The Walking Dead game thread, but someone spoiled the ending for me.  :'(

I still wanna pick up the full season when the retail version is a bit cheaper and I'm already looking forward to season two. I'll be sure to play them right away so this BS doesn't happen again.

Last 3 games I've beaten:

Fallout 3 =  9.5/10.  Easily one of the best first person experiences I've had in my life. Such a great story with a super-expansive universe that I could not believe existed in a video game. Such a unique world that fills me with many questions about life in a nuclear post-apocalyptic setting, and how people would socially react to the situation. Beautiful experience, just beautiful.

Singularity =  8.5/10.  A very fun experience. I'm going to admit, it's not the best game ever made, but it sure is extremely fun in terms of gameplay. You guys have to give it a try if you're into games like Bioshock. I like the setting and story in Bioshock better, but I strongly believe that Singularity has the "more fun" gameplay. It also has horror elements, and I'm surprised that the game pulled it off really well. There were moments where I was quite spooked out.

Uncharted 3 campaign =  9.8/10. WOW, just wow. I was blown away by how amazing the immersion was in this game. They really fleshed out the relationship between Sully and Nate, and thats something I really wanted to see. Excellent graphics, story, characters (I loved Charlie Cutter, that man is hilarious), and set pieces.

Gears of War 1 (360)  9/10
I've been meaning to play this game for a really long time. I'm a huge fan of alien invasion games with cool enemy designs and big boss battles. The corpser fight was very memorable for me. I love games where the enemies don't die in 2-3 bullets. I like the extra bullet-spongey challenge. I'm a huge fan of the Resistance series, and the atmosphere of this game as well as the enemy designs remind me a lot of Resistance. That's what makes it much more enjoyable for me. I've beaten it twice on hardcore. I couldn't believe how much fun I was having with a game that came out in 2006.

Halo 3.  7.5/10

It was my first Halo experience. I didn't feel for any of the characters and I didn't understand the story.. I didn't cry when the black guy died in the end, or show even the least bit of emotion. I didn't really care for Masterchief. But this was one of the most fun FPS games I've played. I loved the oldschool FPS gameplay, scarab battles, graphics, and soundtrack.

I feel like playing Halo Reach because I get the feeling that I'll enjoy the story more because it's a prequel. And you don't need any previous knowledge of the Halo games or universe

You've played it then...how is the story, it's the thing i'm most worried about. Also, how 'childlike' is it. Would it be Disney childlike or Shoenen childlike? For example Spoilers here------"SPOILERSHISMAMDIESATSTARTENDSPOILERS" does it stick to that or does it become a childrens story after that? Are the characters extremely Cheerful and stuff?

-God of War: Origins 9/10 What can I say? I love GoW.

-Modern Warfare 3(campaign) 6.5/10 Wouldn't be surprised if MW4's campaign ends up being shorter than 2 hours.

-Darksiders 8.5/10 Had a blast playing it and will be getting DS2 pretty soon, the new RPG elements have me a little worry about the game though.

-Dead Space 2 8.5/10 Pretty good. I Liked that Isaac could talk on this one, he being mute on the first one didn't make much sense to me.

RPG elements in Darksiders 2 are minimal at best. It's just mainly collecting money to buy upgrades, finding weapons and upgrading weapons.

Re:Rate the last game you played - Monday, February 04, 2013 2:35 PM ( #451 )
@Irishguy... Not Disneyesque at all. There are genuinely dark moments. There are interesting twists. I like the story. An 8 year old can play it and love it. I am 40 and I love it. I loved Skyrim too and Fallout 3. The biggest complaints I have seen in the reviews were about the combat system. But, I love the combat system, it is more like a hybrid of trad JRPG and WRPG. You can move around and avoid attacks during battle but your attacks/ spells/ whathaveyou have a recharge timer. Some critics claim it is too much like pokemon because of the familiars, I don't think so, pokemon is its thing with evolution of the various creatures, but that is where the simularity ends. It is fun but I am a JRPG fan. I played them growing up and always loved them. If you played Dragon Quest VIII for PS2, then you will find this just as enjoyable (it is hard to find people that didn't like DQ VIII.)

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch - 9/10 (logged: 70 hours, main story completed, in post-game content)

Along with Valkyria Chronicles, this is arguably the best PS3 title I've played. It is also better than anything I've played on PC in the last 7 years (the beginning of this generation). Funny thing is, I began this generation with an intense dislike for RPGs (one I've had since I was a child). But VC and Ni no Kuni truly stand out with their fresh mixture of real-time and retro elements, and tactics.

My complaint with the title (Ni no Kuni): there are one or two familiars in the game that I consider "broken". Capturing and leveling these familiars up can break the game's high difficulty (which is extremely well-paced otherwise) and make the game comparatively easy.

Pre-ordered it, release date was supposed to be on 25 Jan, but got pushed back to 1 Feb, then 7 Feb, apparently Namco didn't provide enough supplies to meet the demand, and the German retailer, which provides my local one with the games, ran out of all copies, I am pretty hyped now

Even before they became Platinum games, Clover studious has been arguably my fav game developer. With the regency of P games, this thought only became more true to me as they continued to release brilliant titles. I finished Vanquish last night..... And i don't think I ever in my life played and beat a worser game in existence.

5/10

8,5/10

Great game, really great actually. Should have been more difficult on nephilim, SSS rank should be harder to achieve, it should have been longer, an Vergil should never EVER wear a fedora again. If not for that, I'd given it a 10. Recommended.

Prince of Persia Trilogy: PS3

+ Excellent quality remastered visuals
+ Classic gameplay
+ Entertaining platforming
+ Good character dialogue

- Sound quality
    - Almost no music ever
    - Ridiculously bad echo on sound effects and voices
    - Sound effects that either don't occur, or occur at the wrong time
    - Extremely loud sound effects and often extremely quiet dialogue
- Boring repetitive battles in The Sands of Time
- All original glitches are still present
- Camera does whatever it wants
- Removed bonus content

5/10

Classic games that show their age. It doesn't help that Ubisoft screwed up the audio, removed the bonus features, and didn't bother to fix any of the original problems for this re-release.
