Ubuntu 11.04 from Gnome to Unity.

I personally think this is a good decision that Canonical decided to drop Gnome for Unity. It is in a way just a OSX dock clone that is on the left of the screen. Still I've been using the Ubuntu netbook remix edition since it came out and I've preferred that over Gnome. Well I guess with 11.04 you still can have the same old Classic Ubuntu. I also think Gnome wasn't going anywhere any time soon. It just felt dated to me. Obviously you can customize it to make it look any way you want it to. Either way this is a good refreshing pace. Then you have KDE that is just trying to clone every other OS out there with its appearance. Its a good thing Canonical just decided to create its own desktop interface. So now we got what? Gnome,Unity,XFCE,KDE,and some others I believe.

The classic gnome menu will still be available for 11.04 but they will completely remove it by 11.10. I like the way Canonical is moving forward but Ubuntu will no longer be as viable for old computers as it is now.

I'm still unsure of what Unity is suppose to be, other than a stripped down version of what they've been using to make it.
Enough is enough!! >:( UNBAN RAGE AND TENSTEPS!!!

The tabs on the dock just spin around a little bit or light up.

WTH? http://www.gnome3.org/ Gnome 3 came out today. So I haven't been following its development at all and today I see this. Its like the same thing as Unity with a tad different design. So who is ripping off who here?

The funny thing is I found this on the ubuntu website. They were praising it today. Which is funny because they are the ones who are dropping it in favor of Unity. http://www.ubuntu.com/ go here and tab through the headlines.

Anyone running Unity? I am having trouble with a google music frame called Nuvola. It will integrate GMusic so it doesnt use a standalone app and plays from the dash. Its the only thing that hasnt worked on 12.10. I have added the source location and even tried to install via source but I must be some kind of an idiot. Can anyone help?

Can anyone help? are you able to run it at all? what process do you go though to install and then run it? do you use apt via terminal? i dont know a whole lot about ubuntu, so i may not be able to help much. I am experienced in linux and to be more specific ubuntu derived distros (mint) but not ubuntu specifically.
