PS3 3D TV

I am wondering if the PS3 3D TV could act as a PC 3D monitor and if the actual refresh rate is around 120hz or is it emulated 120hz? Also, before anyone asks about, "why not just get a 3D monitor" I am planning on getting this since the design is cool looking. The TV looks like a giant PSP.

I'm not sure, but i watched a CNET Video Preview of the PS3DTV and the guy mentioned that it could be used as a PC Monitor. I am also willing to buy it, but get it shipped here would cost me a fortune. I'll be visiting USA in Late November, i could get it then, but carrying such a big package all the way back here, would be a real pain. I guess i'll have to pay 50% more and get it from the local Shops.

Don't get it for a PC monitor, it only has HDMI 1.4a which can only do 3D at 1080p @ 24 Hz, or 720p @ 60 Hz , great for movies at 1080p and PS3 3D(720p), you'd need dual link DVI input that Nvidia Monitors have for 1080p @ 60 Hz 3D or 1080p 120 Hz 2D.

Ah, I just wanted it for the design really. But I'll probably look into a real 3D monitor now seeing how my bro's monitor looks real clear of running high frame rate games.

I have the LG W2343D that I picked up for $350, it has a great picture and 0 ms input lag. This one got pretty good reviews as well, http://www.newegg.com/Pro...x?Item=N82E16824016168

For colors? AFAIK all 3D monitors are TN panels because the required response times (IPS would have a lot of ghosting crosstalk) So you'd need to color calibrate it if it's that important, I'm not to picky about colors, mainly just black levels(which are easy to adjust yourself)

It's a monitor, not a TV. You'd need a cable box for it to be used as one.

Just as a follow up to this, I got it for 99.99! But I can see what you guys have said, but I got it so I can use my console on it as well since I no longer have my huge TV anymore. Big glare on this thing though.

Big glare on this thing though. I got one of these last year for the same reason as you, Newtype. I ended up returning it and got a real 120 Hz monitor which ended up being worth the extra cost.

Skv007 haha speaking of 3D, whatever happened to Sony's big 3D push XD 3D, simulview gaming, Move, Home, remote play PSVita/PS3... I wonder whatever happend to Sony's big push with so many things. Next up: 4K support for BluRay movies on PS Omni (not for games)! Introduced to try to push their 4K TV's, like they did with putting BluRay drive in the PS3, and what they tried with 3D support too.

Skv007 haha speaking of 3D, whatever happened to Sony's big 3D push XD It died when the 3D movies died out, which I called as soon as Avatar came out. 3D will disappear completely in the next year or two and then come back in 10 years just like with the 90's. Rinse and repeat.
