so what do you guys think about the whole jrpg games that the 360 has locked up for the time being,  you guys think that the ps3 is in trouble and the 360 can gain a lot of ground in japan now and extend its lead in the us, or do you guys think that the jrpgs are not really gonna affect the platform in japan,  you guys gotta admit sony dropped the ball on this one big time in my opinion, if you feel different post it here. we all know ms paid some big time cash to do this, so tell me how you guys feel about it thanks.

I dont think much ground will be gained in Japan, if any.  However this is a happy day for gamers like me

Well first I have to say MS isn't the only company that puts their money were their mouth is and if anyone truely believes Sony doesn't pay for exclusives I have a bridge for sale you might like.  Now then, for MS in Japan I'm not sure the JRPGs will make a dent in hardware sales really.  I think they are set in there 10k a week ways but that isn't saying that the games won't sell because there are already a good amount of systems in Japan and I'm sure the people who own one will get these RPGs.  Star Ocean 3 only did a million worldwide if I'm not mistaken and I think the 360 can get that number from all territories I'm sure.  Plus people do like tri-Ace so I don't see why Infinite wont do well and Last Remnant seems pretty slick as well.  So software sales yes but hardware sales will be normal.

IDC all I care about is Final Fantasy and MGS.


I am sure SE will put Star Ocean on PS3 after they see MGS4 sales.

Having a gaming capable PC I have no reason to buy X360 and while I am fan of Star Ocean I will NOT buy a console for only 1 game.









Nowdays the best JRPG developer is Level-5, which are making White Knight Story for PS3.

No like any Atlus, Level 5, Capcom, Sony, Nintendo, other Square Enix titles, and so many other devs RPGs.  Contact, Devil Summoner, Nocture, Legend of Dragoon, Dark Cloud, Secret of Evermore, Breath of Fire, Mana series, Earthbound, Fire Emblem, Dragon Quest etc.  All great JRPGs and not a one of them titled Final Fantasy.

Oblivion is a WRPG which some are good but I like the JRPGs a whole lot more. 

So you won't buy a system for one game but you will buy a system for two games... good thing you have standards

All the JRPGs you named I played and none was good as Final Fantasy VI. Not VII, VI.

Capcom and Nintendo? HAHAHA nowdays they are below help.




Mark my words. WKS will be ground breaking.
Its already known that the character customization is so deep that developers used it to make ALL characters in game and even showed up Japanese idols made with it.

Well hey I'll give you props for enjoying VI the most.  Sure Capcom needs to make another Breath of Fire but that franchise was rocking and Nintendo makes some uber tactic RPGs so don't be nockin them.


edit: you don't need to tell me about WKC I have that in my lists for trackin   I know when a new story for that game comes out same with a few other games I track

I hope they do boost sales, anything that boosts any PS3/360 hardware is always good.

I hope the PS3 gets something SOON, I really am fed up with the lack of any RPG on there.

But I don't really care to much, as I also have a 360 I can play anything!

LO is great.  Random battles, turn based gameplay, looks nice, good story, really hard side temple, and plenty of skills to learn for the immortals.

Well, if this 360 RPG movement actually results in shipping numbers for the 360, then it's most likely that the PS3 will be lining up more RPGs for everyone. The PS3 seems to have a little more weight behind moving games, more so that RPGs are mostly lacking for the system at this time.

I belive due to the fact that SE said they are unsure that Star Ocean 4 will be on PS3 that after they see sales of MGS4 they will make it on PS3 too.

You know I am not gonna sit here and claim it is the Final Fantasy killer, and Disk 1 can drag a little, but if you like JRPG's there is no reason not to have this in your collection. What it tries to do it does very well. At the same time it never tried to reinvent the wheel. Beautiful game though, by far at this point in time the greatest looking RPG ever made. It will easily be passed in the future though. I recommend it. Good 60-70 hours of gameplay there for you if you can suffer passed the slow start...Of course what RPG doesn't really drag a little at the start, lol.
