Corporate website...never were really interested in any games. The reviewer seems like a fine person, but dont know anything about him other than he writes the whole review like a professional novel writer and spends time sprucing up the sentences than more time actually probably playing the game.

Oh my goodness he has such an artistic use of pronouns.

Okay, my thoughts:

Story 8.7 ....are you kidding me?! this is the star wars of the gaming industry, how on earth can you give it anything less than a 9.0, oh wait, you dont know much about MGS ya, I get you.

Design 9.0 ...fine I guess, but what would it take to score higher just please point that out.

Gameplay 8.9  ...each to his own.

Presentation 9.8 ...while thats dandy and all, but what in hells name deserves a 10 then?

Overall 9.3 ...Ok no arguements, but a 9.5+ would have made me a bit happier, but its good nonetheless.

The score is pretty good. I just feel that if they can give Halo 3 a 9.8, then surely they can give MGS4 a bit more than that.
You can give MGS4 a 9 for story (since Halo 3 got a 9.5) and then give the game a 9.5.

If you want to know what it takes to get more than 9.0 for design, the answer is Halo 3. (10 for design)

Can you not just concede that someone has a different opinion to you?

MGS4 is an amazing game, no matter what any review says it wont change my opinion on it. Amazing game, too many cut scenes for my liking and too much emphasis on long cut scenes and story. But those are very small negatives in a n otherwise amazing game.

Yes, I thought their Halo review went way too far. Especially since they spent about half the review complaining about things, but apparently not enough to even consider taking a point off of anything.
