It's been nearly a month since FW 2.40/2.41 and still, only one game has been patched. Warhawk and Burnout Paradise (the only interesting racer IMO) should realistically have a patch before the end of the month, but really, this is extremely poor execution.

You guys have, can, and will say that Trophies don't matter, but the fact is if they patch an older game, you WILL play it again, whether it be borrowing a friend's copy, renting it, or picking it up for $20-40 and trading it in (or keeping it for online). You know you will and I know it too.

I have a good number of games, many I bought on sale because I'm very money-conscious (some I irrationally bought like DBZ Burst Limit, but whatever), and some I got bored of, like Enchanted Arms and R6V (first one). With a little Trophy incentive (for completing and to challenge myself on harder difficulties), I would definitely romp through them.

I'm just tired of waiting. The PS3 has so many terrific features, with Trophies easily near the top, but the Trophy system is going to be so badly neglected that it's worth investing more hype into the next local beauty pagent than new Trophy patches.

If they come, then great, and if not oh well. Devs, you're losing $20-30 per PS3-owner on your older titles that we haven't picked up yet by letting them rot in limbo. Gaming is about the moment, not the waiting for the moment - that's hype's job. Time to pretend that Trophies don't exist.

as for burnout paradise:

Burnout Paradise v1.3 - Cagney (PS3: July 10th, 2008, released. Xbox 360: July 24th, 2008, bugs found)
Burnout Paradise v1.3.5? - unnamed trophies update, PS3 only (sometime between Cagney and Davis, free)
           - Support for Playstation Trophies
Burnout Paradise v1.4 - Davis (End of July/August, beta status, free update with purchasable extras, price unannounced)

as for warhawk, i don't really know when v1.5 is gonna come out

I agree with you Trophies are a great implementation to the ps3. I would definitely buy old games I was on the verge of bouying just for the Trophies suport. Also i will definitely go back to my already purchased games and replay them all over again.
