Call of Duty 5. keep playing? - Wednesday, July 01, 2009 7:02 PM

So i just read the article about how the code is bad for this game and is burning out the PS3 blu ray drive. I dont know if i should keep the game or turn it in at gamestop. I really enjoy the game but i dont want it to mess my ps3 up. I dont know what to do.

yea trade that **** it. IMO not as fun as COD4. just wait to play MW2 and now you can give some other games a try when you get some money for it.

I don't get it... How can a game burn out the disc drive? It's not like it spins faster or anything. Anyway, keep the game - Nazi Zombies is too fun.

For you, it must be difference of opinion.

I'm just kidding, they have been fairly uninspired lately. Although there is the odd WW2 game that really does shine. Like the Brothers In Arms games (not Hell's Highway for me), and the CoD's before CoD3 (which some people really liked).

that kinda made me raise my brow as well... so by their logic (the site complaining) the fast the disc spins the "brighter" the laser is?

I guess they are saying that the game makes the drive spin to fast and blows out the drive. something like that. i don't get it.

This pretty much sums up my opinion of WaW. I hated that game I only made it to level 61 and never went back. Compare this to cod4 where I went through all 10 prestige's...can't wait for MW2.

dont worry keep playing if you like it, the article was completly based on no source and had no logic. It would make sense if there was many reports of the game burning out drives but imo its not a great game and you should sell it while the value is still high.

That's the funny part, apparently a code in the game MAKES the disc spin quicker, what I don't understand is, isn't there a failsafe for something like that? Or rather does the disc's coding actually even determine the speed a disc is read?

that is the same thing i thought. like whats the point of putting 16x dvd speed if the software tells it how fast to go?

Agreed, this game > Cod4.  WW2 > Fake war loosely based on the present.  Nazi Zombies > oh wait, Cod4 doesn't have anything to compete with that.
