Will PC MMO Lovers Play FF14?

I have my PS3 and I love it. And I'm also a fan of MMOs, although I pretty much only play them on the PC. I've never played FF11 or any other MMO that takes place on consoles and I'm a little wary of them. But I would love to play a Final Fantasy MMO on my PS3 when it comes out. Has anyone who's played FF11 or other console MMOs tell me the difference between a console and PC MMO?

Isn't the game cross platform? (i.e, PC and PS3 users can interact online?)
