Uncharted was one of the best games i have ever played.   Even though the sequel may not come out anytime soon, what are some things that could be added to make it even better than the first?

More interactive environments, more destructible stuff, some sort of online integration

harder puzzles to solve and more enemy variety.  Also it'd be cool if Drake's next adventure took him across a wide variety of landmarks.  Like Pyramids, Great Wall, Eifell Tower.

Uncharted was a very very good game.  However, I'd like Jak 4 this year and Uncharted 2 late next year.

someone is going to mention MP gameplay... which is dumb. not all games need MP.

for the sequel(s) i would like:

  • the ability of playing as Elena and/or Sully for a couple levels.
  • more puzzle solving and being more complex
  • having it run about 10-15 hours would be a bonus
  • more unlockables and deeper XMB/Trophy integration (which is a given, anyhow)
  • i would say more weapons but the first game had a perfect amount of weapons already
  • some underwater scuba levels

uncharted is still one of the best games i've ever played and i hope Naughty Dog has already started pre-production for the sequels.

Not all games need online i agree with you 100% but i am telling you 4vs4 uncharted online would be awesome.

I don't want them to focus on MP at the expense of SP but with 2 yrs and them already having their game engine done, they should be able to do something with online.

I forgot to add more water. How bout some underwater swimming this time

yeah, it would be awesome, or even co-op play in which you need to work together to do the puzzles.
like have one player on one section of the level and the other on another part and having to synchronize the puzzle elements to go on.

online play would be welcomed but if they do i hope they concentrate on the SP part more than the MP

Exactly, it shouldn't just be death match stuff. As long as SP doesn't suffer then i say they go for it

i think that is a good idea about the landmarks.
  • CO-OP!!!!!
  • better explotions (they were good but deffinetly could be better)
  • gernades more destructive
  • destructable envirements
  • maybe a stealth system (you could pretend to be a bad guy to slip by unnotticed)
  • more ammo capacity
  • better sniping
  • more vehicles parts
  • make it feel more open and not feel like there is one path all the time
  • if somebody throws a gernade you could kick/throw it back at them
  • maybe a knife

If the next one took place in Egypt it would be cool to see mummys attack

This thread kind of conflicts with the going back to Uncharted after GTA IV thread. Uncharted has it's problems as most of you pointed out here.

Uncharted 2 should be in first person and have a lot less ledge jumping. It's a lot like Pitfall which came out in 1982. It was fun then but showing it's age now. Uncharted 2 should be more of a shooter.

yeah, like a Gears online thing would be cool and yeah, if they could squeeze that in for online mode that would be icing on the cake.

and yeah, the ability to throw back grenades would be cool, same with a stealth feature and a knife would be awesome as well.

yeah, every game should now be FPS.

gimme a break, not all games should be FPS and Uncharted is definitely one that shouldn't. it's a platformer and it's suppose to have platforming elements. if you don't like this sort of genre stick to your generic FPS gaming.
Uncharted is perfect for what it is, it's a Shooter/Platformer. and it does it very well.
i hope to God ND doesn't listen to people like you and make it a shooter only game.

well i dont know if i would go with first person. because then the smooth animations wouldnt be needed and thats one of the most impressive things about it. Plus i think that the jumping parts would just make it be like Mirrors Edge. the cover system would be thrown off.  bottom line is that it would take the game in a complete opposite direction.

Maybe a closer up third person view (optional of course) that would be like the resident Evil ones.

but the coolest thing besides graphics that should be added is the stealth

fair enough, but changing it to an FPS is by far the worst idea i've heard. they might as well make an entirely new IP if they went that way.
actually, developers do listen to the public now. whether or not they incorporate our ideas is another thing, but trust me, they read what we write online.

Another thing, I have seen recent games get trashed for being linear. Uncharted was very linear and the game doesn't get trashed for it. Linear and ledge jumping. They need to fix that.

true, it would make a better game if it was more of an open world but not all games need to be sandbox. people are getting too spoiled with open worlds since GTA and that's a shame. not all games can be sandbox.
if they made the next uncharted a little more open that would be a good thing, but i do like the platforming elements and they should keep it because it was always meant to be a platformer as well as a 3rd person shooter. not everyone likes platforming but this gen needs more games like these because we're being bombarded with FPS and 3rd person shooters and not very many platformers. I like to have a game library that's more diverse and so i welcome anything that breaks away from this shooter frenzy we're experiencing.

I personally feel that Uncharted should not touch the FPS scene at all.  The least enjoyable part of the game for me, was when the gameplay changed in the end and became more of a shooter.  I still enjoyed the game, but I felt it was a whole different game.

I think they should make the world more open and not so linear; and although it is a platformer, maybe let you go back and forth from different areas.  Maybe Drake has access to an underground arm's dealer somewhere, and he can keep travelling back and forth to get something.  I loved this game, so I wouldn't really change things much; just make the game larger, involve more puzzles, make more quests and improve the already great graphics

There is no way in hell the Uncharted sequel should be an FPS.

Adventure games like this NEED a third-person view to see the surrounding environment. It's essential.

I think the FPS thing was a joke though the fps view might not be a bad idea. Watching MGS switch from fps to 3rd person view, i wonder how many primary 3rd person shooters will start to implement an optional on the fly first person view point
