RAM.i think the next gen consoles will need a huge ram boost i say 2gb or even 4gb the gears creator wanted 512 for gears so i believe that when the companies think about graphic cards processors and other things they should think more of ram also.

GPU.of course something better than the 8800gt

HDD.300gb standard

ONLINE.well im not sure how i would like online to be i love xbox live but home is yet to be released but as xbox live is i would want all the features of that in ever next gen system.

CONTROLLER. motion sensing controllers

PROCESSOR. should be from the phenom series

well just add anything im bored

I want speakers in the controler as well.  That feature is pretty slick when used.

I don't know but I will keep it the same format you got....

Ram: Considering they never really make "Giant" leaps, I would say that they will have 1 gig of ram. Possibly 1.5 gigs to offset their respective dashboards.

HDD: I would say on the low end we will still see 120gig to control cost and biggest will be 500gigs. Just to much of a cost still for the manufactures.

Online: Xbox LIVE is great. PSN is getting there. To tell you the truth if they keep improving the way they have I am fine with both, with minor added improvements.

Controller: Love the 360 controller as it just need to fix the shitty D-Pad, Would like to see Sony make a slightly bigger controller with offset Analog sticks. The Wii...Meh...Motion controllers I don't think are needed as most games just seem to "Tack" them on as an afterthought which makes it more annoying then usefull.

Processor: Whatever delivers the best experience/value around the time of production I guess. lol.

Really though I think they are far from getting a handle on either console yet. I remember on PS2 thinking a lot of games were the greatest ever on the console but they just kept getting better and better as time went on. I think we haven't even gotten to that point yet in this generation where the games are getting better at a exponential rate. That's why I laugh when I hear people talking about how they "Know" a new Xbox will be here soon. Both consoles are far from the sweet "$199" Price point and will continue to be for a little while. The battle between Sony and MS is still in the early stages if you ask me. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see the Next-Gen of consoles from either company till around 2012. 360 will be able to ride the price advantage and library of games for a good while. While Sony can ride the adoption of Blu Ray and the library of games for a good while too. Just my opinion on things.

HDD: I think solid state disks will be used and you'll be able to choose from different models. Capacities ranging from 120 and up.

Controller: See Syko's comment.

I can't really say much about the other one's cause I have no idea...

Ya it's weird because even though it is small, it isn't uncomfortable. I just feel like it is small in my hands. Even my DS3 seems/feels on the small side. I love the D-Pad and the built in battery pack though.

Oh i prefer concave analog sticks too...but now I am nitpicking lol. I want concave analog sticks with the texture Sony has on theirs...Wonder if I can mate my 360 controller with my DS3...I did get the white one, maybe they will like each other.

I haven't bought a retail PS3 game yet so don't feel bad. Only Downloaded Warhawk.

RAM: There's either more slower RAM or less Faster RAM. All consoles typically went with less faster RAM with is more effective than throwing more at the problem.

GPU: The RSX is a modified G70 Nvida chip that was built for speed and RAM access bandwidth. This helps to make for a streamlined processor that outperforms current GPUs on the commerical market.

HDD: Here's the double edge sword: the more HDD space available the more of a reason as to why you should have bigger installed games. The base model HDD sizes act as a limiter to install sizes (with the exception of Capcom who doesn't care).
It makes streamlined games and installs (ie Uncharted)

ONLINE: Whatever... it's eventually going to be a bland uniform system.

Controller: One that's functional and has features people are going to like and designers are going to use.

Processors: (They aren't going to use Phenoms) There's nothing wrong with the Cell. What we're seeing is the same issues that came up with the Emotion Engine back in the PS2. Within 3 years of using it, the industry adapted and are better off. So t he Cell is a better math processor, then make the changes you need to do to adapt.

Really if you go back to the ideologies of basing the console on stock parts, you're going to end up with another XBOX. A really massive console that loses it's potential because of technology advancements.

Different controlers for the seperate consoles are always fun.  Last gen my favorite thing to do after playing a xbox game was to pop in a GameCube game.  It just felt so weird because I perfered playing with that hugh monstrosity of a controler the original xbox had then the smaller one they made after the stick and the GC pad is just tiny compaired to it.

I don't believe we will see any differences in hardware, but I do foresee the more improvement on the software side.

RAM = 2-4 GB RAM. Likely PCs are going to shift into 4-8 GB before 2011 with the next release of Windows coming in 2010-2011 and its likely at least one console will sport 4 GB of RAM.
GPU = DirectX 11 | Open GL 3.0 GPU likely with 4-16 cores. Intel has plans for a 16 core GPU by 2010. DirectX 11 and Open GL 3 are announced and are likly to debut in 2011.
CPU =  At least 16 or 32 core/SPE or other type of CPU. Intel has plans to go up to 16 or 32 core processor by 2010-2012.
HDD at least 120-250 GB
Online = not much to change, but net codes could always be tweaked for better performance
Controller = I don't care, I will learn it and play with it.
