With the announcement of wiispeak, motionplus, animal crossing city folk, etc., can Nintendo beat the opposition?
For starters, Animal Crossing City Folk, when you buy a Billiards table for example, will we be able to interact with it, like being able to play pool, or are we stuck with the same ol collection stunt that becomes to repetitive? For Wiispeak, is it confined to games only, or can we eventually speak with those on our wii address book, like how 360 and ps3 are doing? The game, The Conduit looks to be one of the most fantastic Wii titles that looks impressive with those quality graphics that would blow even M.P.3, MOH:H2 away. What would you think of seeing TimeSplitters 4 coming for Wii? And of course, Nintendo has yet to offer a solution for Wii internal flash mem issue, running out of mem, and lack of using a sd card like a normal mem card like GCN. What is your reaction?

Anyways Nintendo isn't really trying to beat the opposition in the hardcore market as much as the casual market. Which they're murdering in.

I hope that there is a lot more to do in AC like playing old nintendo games with people online, plus billiards for bells or something.

Wii speak I'm not really sure, but I don't think people who use the wii are really looking to connect to people through voice chat other than through the game.

The Conduit looks like a game that has a lot of hype among hardcore wii users, which may be a good thing. The wii does have a base of hardcore gamers, when you see games like RE4 and Brawl sell lots, but then again it is a company that is not really known.

Timesplitters I welcome to my wii library.

Nintendo I'm guessing is looking for a way to prevent piracy while promoting a hard drive...the connectors and ports they have are standard, so can be manipulated more easily...I think to make a hard drive, they may need to use a gamecube controller port so hacks are harder to do.
