This is going to turn in a ban fest.
El Salvador,this wasn't needed.
And to OP,it was a dupe,nothing more
and frankly i can see why you got the ban.
While we are at it,some contributors are
posting articles with links to the 2nd page of an article
for their submissions to go through.

My apologies then. I do feel that way but I shouldn't have posted it.

Meh you tell me why i deserve a 7 day ban
http://www.n4g.com/up/16592/score.aspx

go ahead tell me what Ive done wrong.. I follow the rules my coments dont get deleted and my stories arnt flame bait... Ya I feel the 360 is a raw deal but so what Im not the only one... (besides which Ive approved plenty of pro 360 stories when i thought it be something gamers would like to know)  What this boils down to is some fanboy with mod privliges giving a decent contributer the shaft because he/she/it can.

7 days ban seems like it is a little bit harsh.
It would be better if those kinds of bans were
handed to people who report wrongly. However, you should have
checked the source article.Since Ali The Brit completely altered
the article by altering the original context. You should not have
approved because it was blatant that the article was wrong and
unethical if you go by the contributor rules and regulations.

We all know very well how it works in the pending section. It suffice you
would be the initiator by approving an article and suddenly everybody rushes in
to approve.

Did TnS report duplicate before you approved?

If so, then you have some other agenda you are pushing. I would agree with a 24 hour ban, or even a 3 day day. But 7 days is too much...unless you've been banned before?

If TnS reported after you approved then the mods made a mistake

If you got suspended for approving something "bad" then there is a HUGE amount of people here that should have been suspended SO many times and even permanently banned considering there actions and how much they keep insisting on doing them

...and yet I think not a single one of the biggest offenders have not even been suspended once (in the irony section some of them actually "complain" and even threat other other people for not fallowing the rules...when it fits there agenda at least -_- )

Heres what i get when i try and approve a story

Your current restrictions at N4G d

Approve Stories
You can't approve stories at this moment because you have not been reporting according to the N4G guidelines.
http://www.n4g.com/gaming/NewsPendingCom-139384.aspx Restriction time left: 6 days 17 hours 21 min

Looks to me like some mods got a bonner for me is all.

When you approved the story, was this part:

"before this gets reported loads by angry xbox owners, note,
in the past whole stories have been made out of comments in a blog alone.

the review is 7 pages long, and then a video review. pretty long, this one part of it is very much so news, and this way its giving people a specific important part of the story quick and easy. thanks.

Xbots- truth hurts doesnt it? so you have to try and bomb this"

in the story description?

If so, you deserve the ban.  If not, it sounds like overkill.

PMing mods and Admins is always the best course of action when having question about a ban. Not posting a thread.

Sorry m8 but it seems valid considering I have no idea who the mod is or why I was singled out for this draconian ban. Remember the only thing i did was click on the approve button after a story had already gotten a few approvers and no reports yet....

If i had a pm or something explaining the mods point I certainly would of tried to resolve it there. But how can i reason with an anonymous mod other than in an open forum they might at least read.

This has been posted before, there are literally dozens and dozens of bannings a day and there is no realistic way that mods and admins can notify each one. If you have a problem PM an admin or a mod. If you PM the wrong one they can point you in the right direction or contact the mod or admin who did the banning who in turn will respond to you when they have time.

The story should not have been approved as it was rightly reported as a duplicate. The reason for the 7 day restrictions was that I was under the impression that it was approved with that highly inappropriate update. I now see that I may have made a mistake , and that some of you might have approved it before the update was added. I apologize for this, and I will review the logs again.

Agreed. Please PM when an issue like this arises... it is much easier to detect and eliminate or otherwise fix the issue.
