ORIGINAL: Farsendor1 yeah i seen the video was wrong but a lot of people still complaining so i just figured it might be same problem i don't know much about that tech stuff i just want to play games but no i do not think a 360 is garbage it has a lot of good games on it. Best advice I can give you is to go ahead purchase the 360 and enjoy the games. Dont worry about rrod or disc scratching they are a thing of the past. But if you do worry about it , remember that its a free repair if it were to be broken but it will most likely not happen. To clarify that: after august/september 2007 Microsoft switched totally from T/S and Hitachi drives to Philips/BenQ ones. All with rubber bumpers (Hitachi also had them BTW). From 1st April 2008 Philips/Lite On drives have been produced, used mostly in 360's with MFR date from May 2008 and after. About overheating: since May 2007 Microsoft uses the extra heatsink on the GPU that takes the heath away faster from the chip&motherboard. After about august/september they also introduced the 65nm CPU compared to the 90nm CPU. The 90nm 360 used 203 watt, the 65nm 360 uses 175 watt. Less poweruse, less heat. Thus to be save: buy a 360 with MFR Date from October 2007 and after. You'll have the latest drive with rubber bumpers, 65nm CPU.
